Roberto Ferreira Artoni

Biologist (1993) and PhD in Genetics and Evolution (1999) from the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), he has a distinguished academic and scientific career. He was a full member of the Brazilian Society of Genetics for 25 years (since 1993) and of the Brazilian Society of Ichthyology for 10 years. In 2024, he became a founding member of the Brazilian Society of Evolutionary Biology.He is currently a professor in the postgraduate programmes in Evolutionary Genetics at UFSCar and in Evolutionary Biology at the State University of Ponta Grossa (UEPG), where he has worked since 1998 in the Department of Structural and Molecular Biology and Genetics.As leader of the Campos Gerais Evolutionary Biology Research Group, she is dedicated to the study of evolutionary processes, conservation and scientific applications, with aquatic organisms as her main study models. More recently, he has been exploring the interface between evolutionary biology and bioinformatics, expanding the frontiers of knowledge in both areas. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
