She holds a degree in Chemistry (1989) and a Ph.D. in Chemistry (1994) from the State University of Campinas. She is currently an Associate Professor at the Federal University of Paraná. She has extensive experience in the field of Chemistry, with a focus on Natural Products Chemistry. Her work includes the chemical study of plants, with an emphasis on the isolation and identification of secondary metabolites, both volatile and non-volatile, particularly from the Piperaceae and Fabaceae families. Her research involves the application of natural products in various fields: in health, with antimicrobial, antitumor, and leishmanicidal activities; and in agriculture, in pest control and allelopathic activities.
