I am a member of the New World Marsupials Specialists Group (SSC/IUCN) and serve on the Mammal Collections Committee of the Brazilian Society of Mammalogy. My research is in the area of Mammalogy (Mammal Zoology), more precisely with functional morphology and morphological evolution of mammals, morphometrics, ecomorphology, as well as ecology, evolution and diversity of mammals from Northeastern Brazil. I work with several groups of mammals, but my main focus and interest is in marsupials. I also collaborate with the Environmental Education and Science Communication Research Center (NUPEAC ), especially in the production of audiovisual material (videos and audio, including the science podcast Prosa com Ciência).
