Marcelo Ribeiro Barison

Graduated in Geological Engineering from the Federal University of Ouro Preto (1990), Master in Geotechnics from the School of Engineering of São Carlos (1994), sub-area of #8203;#8203;Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Mapping. PhD in Geosciences and Environment from the Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (2003), in the area of #8203;#8203;Hydrogeology. PhD Program Sandwich in the University of Calgary, Canadá.He is currently Associate Professor, Class D, level 4 at the Federal University of Alfenas - UNIFAL, at the Advanced Campus of Poços de Caldas, Institute of Science and Technology - ICT. and preferably teaches the following subjects: General Geoloagy, Soil Mechanics and Groundwater.As for the research areas, he has experience in the area of #8203;#8203;geotechnical studies in Soil Mechanics, erosion and slope stability; Hydrochemical study of groundwater, contamination and remediation studies by inorganic and organic chemical compounds. Mineralogical and petrological characterization of hydrographic basins.He has held various administrative roles in his academic career, as Head of Groundwater and Geology laboratories.He was Coordinator of the Water Engineering Course at UNIFEI from 2006 to 2010 and also coordinator of the Environmental Engineering course at UNIFEI in 2012 and 2013.In December 2013, it was redistributed from UNIFEI to UNIFAL, to the Institute of Science and Technology - ICT, Advanced Campus of Poços de Caldas, State of Minas Gerais. He teaches Geology subjects; Soil and Groundwater Mechanics for Bachelor of Science and Technology, Environmental Engineering and Mining Engineering courses.He was coordinator of the Interdisciplinary Bachelor's Degree in Science and Technology at UNIFAL, Unifal Institute of Science and Technology, Poços de Caldas-MG Campus in 2016 and 2017.He held the position of Deputy Director of the Institute of Science and Technology of UNIFAL, Poços de Caldas campus, from April 2019 to April 2021.In 2020, he joined as a professor of the Specialization Course in Mining Engineering - CEEM, at the Institute of Science and Technology of UNIFAL.Other additional and detailed information can be found within the Lattes Curriculum.
