Researcher at the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Laboratory of Technological Development in Virology, LADTV/IOC-FIOCRUZ-RJ). Area of expertise: virology and molecular biology. Main topics: (a) genetic diversity, prevalence, and pathogenesis of equine viral hepatitis (equine hepacivirus and equine parvovirus) and (b) foodborne viral zoonosis (FBT), focusing on hepatitis E virus (HEV) and rat hepatitis E virus (ratHEV). Completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Department of Pathobiology and Population Medicine/Molecular Biology, College of Veterinary Medicine, Mississippi State University, USA. Masters and Ph.D. in Preventive Veterinary Medicine/Molecular Virology from São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho (UNESP-Botucatu, SP).
