Birthplace: Brazil

I work in the fields of neurophysiology and visual electrophysiology, with an emphasis on veterinary ophthalmology and neuro-ophthalmology, as well as experimental research into neurodegenerative diseases. I have a degree in Mechanical Engineering, with over ten years of experience in the field, and later trained in Veterinary Medicine. I have a master's degree in Surgery, with a focus on Ophthalmology (FMVZ/USP), a PhD in Neuroscience and Behavior (NeC-USP), and specializations in Administration (MBA) completed in Brazil and abroad.During my academic and professional career, I participated in the development of immunohistochemistry techniques for studying nicotinic receptors in the nervous system, implemented electroneuromyography protocols in dogs (HOVET-USP) and collaborated in the adoption of non-invasive methods of visual assessment, such as Visual Evoked Potentials (VEP and SweepVEP).I have a veterinary degree/licensed veterinarian in Spain and I actively participate in national and international scientific events in the field of vision. During my doctorate, I investigated the visual system in animal models especially the Pcdh15roda model for Usher Syndrome using ERG, OCT and qOMR, with a special focus on neurophysiology, visual electrophysiology, ophthalmology and veterinary neuro-ophthalmology, in addition to the application of experimental models for the study of neurodegenerative diseases.
