Katt Regina Lapa

Civil Engineer from FURB in 1999, Master and PhD in Hydraulic Engineering and Sanitation from EESC/USP in 2003 and 2016. Post-Doctorate in Environmental Numerical Modeling from Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon in 2020/2021. Currently, she is an Associate Professor DE-N4 at the Federal University of Santa Catarina, teaching undergraduate courses in Aquaculture Engineering and graduate courses in Aquaculture. She served as Deputy Head (2016-2017) and Head (2018-2019) of the Department of Aquaculture at the Center for Agricultural Sciences at UFSC. She conducts research and extension activities in the areas of recirculating aquaculture systems, hydrodynamic modeling, aquaculture effluent treatment, environmental impacts of aquaculture on the environment and vice versa. She also contributes as a columnist for Portal Aquaculture Brasil, focusing on Aquaculture Sanitation and Water Reuse for Recirculating Aquaculture Systems.
