Juliana Abonizio is an Associate Professor at the Federal University of Mato Grosso and a lecturer in the Contemporary Culture Studies Graduate Program. She leads the Quotidian Banalities (BACO) research group and is an associate member of the Brazilian Society of Sociology (SBS) and the National Association of Interdisciplinary Research and Graduate Studies in the Humanities (ANINTER). Internationally, Abonizio was also a Visiting Scholar at the Institute of Social Sciences at the University of Lisbon and has extensive partnerships with Portuguese researchers across disciplines. In 2010, she was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Lisbon and in 2019 at the Social Anthropology Department of the University of Rio Grande do Norte. In 2012 and 2016, she also worked as a participant researcher in both institutions respectively. Abonizio's areas of expertise extend through interdisciplinary fields such as Sociology of Daily Life, Consumption Cultural Studies, Decolonial Studies, and Human& Animal Studies.
