Journalist, performer and PhD in Performing Arts (in the area of Theater Pedagogy) from the University of São Paulo (USP), with research on scenic processes, territory and micropolitical experience in Latin America. During her master's degree at the same institution, she focused on theatrical experiences in Palestine, especially the group and cultural center The Freedom Theatre, in the Jenin refugee camp in the West Bank. She has a specialization in Documental Creativo from the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona (UAB), Spain, and a degree in Journalism from USP. She worked as curator of the Pedagogical Actions of the São Paulo International Theatre Festival from 2015 to 2020. She has worked as a scenic provocateur in various theater collectives in the city of São Paulo since 2014. She has participated as an artist-pedagogue in three editions (7th, 8th and 9th) of the Ciclo de Dramaturgía y Creación Escénica Contemporánea Escrita y Dirigida por Mujeres, an initiative conceived by actress and director Carmen Ramos in partnership with artist and teacher Lydia Margules Rodríguez and with the operational and financial support of the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes y Literatura (INBAL), through the Coordinación Nacional de Teatro, in Mexico City, Mexico, respectively in 2022 (hybrid), 2023 (online) and 2024 (hybrid). As a journalist, she was a reporter and editor for Superinteressante; editor-in-chief of Revista das Religiões; and editor of Bravo!, while working at Editora Abril (1999-2007). She also collaborated with other publications, such as Vida Simples, Revista Educação, and Época São Paulo, where she maintained a theater blog. She currently writes reviews and literary criticism for publications such as Pensar (Estado de Minas) and Carta Capital. She wrote the book 'A DIGNA 10 anos' (2022), about the artistic trajectory of the São Paulo theater collective A Digna, published as part of the initiatives contemplated in the 34th edition of the Programa Municipal de Fomento ao Teatro para a Cidade de São Paulo. Her master's and doctoral research were carried out with support from the Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES), under the supervision of Professor Dr. Maria Lúcia Pupo. During her doctoral studies, Maria Fernanda received a scholarship from the PRINT/PDSE program in Mexico from September 2019 to February 2020.
