Magda Alves de Medeiros

graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (1995), holds a PhD in Psychobiology from the Federal University of São Paulo (2001) and a post-doctorate in Veterinary Clinic and Surgery from the University of Cambridge (2009); has taught Physiology in the Department of Physiological Sciences of the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro since 2002, currently as a full professor. Coordinates the Veterinary Acupuncture outpatient clinic at the Small Animal Veterinary Hospital of UFRRJ. Has experience in the area of #8203;#8203;Physiology and Neuroscience, working mainly on the following topics: physiological mechanisms of acupuncture, stress, the use of acupuncture in the clinical treatment of small animals, use of medicinal plants (mainly Cannabis) in animals.
