She is a researcher at the Astrophysics Division of Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais (INPE) since 1994. She has got her bachelor's at Physics in Universidade de São Paulo (USP, 1989), her master at Astronomy in USP (1992) and her doctorate at Astronomy in USP (1997). Her work focuses on stellar astrophysics, acting on the following subjects: cataclysmic variables and interstellar medium. She has a considerable experience in instrumentation to astronomical polarimetry and presently coordinates the development of the instrument SPARC4 - Simultaneous Polarimeter And Rapid Camera in 4 bands -, which is in operation at Observatório do Pico dos Dias. Presently, she is Head of the Astrophysics Division and was formerly Coordinator of the Astrophysical Graduate Studies at INPE. She is member of SOAR Consortium Director Board and was also President of the National Time Allocation Committee of the SOAR Telescope. She was member of Technical and Scientific Committees of INPE and Laboratório Nacional de Astrofísica (LNA). (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
