Graduated in Fine Arts from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (1994) and received a master's degree in History of Art and Culture from the State University of Campinas (1999). PhD in Philosophy from the University of São Paulo (2007), with postdoctoral fellowship at the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florenz (2014-15). Since 2008, he is professor of the History of Renaissance Philosophy at School of Philosophy, Letters and Human Sciences of Universidade Federal de São Paulo. He studies arts and sciences as conceived, elaborated and practiced between the 14th and 17th centuries, and has as its objects of study the Renaissance cosmos and the formation of modern science, having as central characters Nicolaus Copernicus and Galileo Galiei. He prepares a new edition of Leonardo da Vinci's anatomy manuscripts, introduced by essays on study methods and a broad framework drawn from sources that allows the use and integration of disciplines such as art history, science history and history. of philosophy.
