He received the B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the National University of Cordoba (UNC), Argentina, in 1985, and the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering both from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), SP, Brazil, in 1990 and 1998, respectively. In 1994 he joined TELEBRÁS (now "CPqD Telecom IT Solutions") where he has coordinated several PD projects. He was also professor at UNC, Argentina, and Centro Universitário Salesiano de São Paulo (UNISAL), Brazil. His main area of interest is speech and audio processing (text-to-speech conversion, speech recognition, speaker verification, codification and compression).
