Norah Shallymar Gamboa Vela

Post-doctoral studies at UFRR, developing the project Media processes and the configuration of subjectivities around border dynamics and human mobility in the Brazil-Venezuelan Amazon territory (2022-2023); post-doctorate at the Universidad Nacional Experimental Simón Rodríguez, Venezuela, with the project Fake news and post-truth in contemporary Venezuela (2019-2021), doctorate (2003) and master's degree (1999) in Communication Sciences from the School of Communications and Arts of the University of São Paulo; degree in Social Communication from the Universidad Central de Venezuela (1993) and a degree in Advertising from the Instituto Superior de Mercadotecnia (Venezuela, 1986). Professor-researcher at the Universidad Nacional Experimental Simón Rodríguez-UNESR (Venezuela). Lecturer on the Master's Degree in Educational Sciences at UNESR. In Boa Vista: External teacher-researcher linked to the UFRR extension project Somos Migrantes (We are Migrants), of the PPGCOM, and GEIFRON - Interdisciplinary Study Group on Borders, of the Postgraduate Program in Society and Borders, PPGSOF. Researcher on the project The good life, subjectivities and strategies of health production and resistance of immigrant working women from the cities of Rio de Janeiro, Porto Alegre and Boa Vista, for the state of Roraima, together with UFRS and Fiocruz de Río de Janeiro, since 2023. From 2015 to 2021, I was the Director of Cooperation, Continuing Education and Interaction with Communities at UNESR's Graduate and Advanced Education Department. Since 2015, I have been the editor of the journal Educación y Ciencias Humanas at UNESR. Between 2005-2013 I was in charge of Public Affairs at C.A. HIDROVEN (public drinking water and sanitation company), and responsible for the Water Studies Center between 2011-2013. I take part in the Social Movements and Multidimensional Knowledge research line of the CEPAP Experimentation Center for Lifelong Learning and the Postdoctoral Studies Program in Philosophy and Human Sciences in Our America at UNESR. Since 2009 I have been part of the AMLAT Network, a research network on communication, education, citizenship and Latin American integration. I have experience as a reporter, in the field of Communication and Education, with an emphasis on graphic editing for newspapers and magazines, technical proofreading of texts in Spanish and Portuguese, layout of academic books.
