Ana Emília Farias Pontes

Ana Emília Farias Pontes graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry of the Federal University of Goiás (UFG, 1996) with a degree recognized by the University of Coimbra (UC, Portugal, 2025). Has a Master's degree in Dentistry (Periodontics) from the Faculty of Dentistry of Ribeirão Preto, University of São Paulo (USP, 2002) and a PhD in Periodontics from the Faculty of Dentistry of Araraquara, São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho (UNESP, 2007), both degrees having been recognized by the University of Coimbra (UC, Portugal, 2023). Has a sandwich period at the University of Chieti-Pescara (UNICH, Italy, 2006). She is currently a professor of higher education at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF). Has experience in the area of #8203;#8203;Dentistry, with an emphasis on Periodontics, working mainly on the following topics: manipulation of periodontal and peri-implant soft and hard tissues, diagnosis and treatment of periodontal disease, osseointegration of dental implants.
