Full Professor of Logistics and Transportation and Director of the Institute of Production Engineering and Management (IEPG) at the Federal University of Itajubá (UNIFEI). Guest Professor in the Graduate Program in Transportation Engineering at the São Carlos School of Engineering (EESC) at the University of São Paulo (USP). Previously a Visiting Professor at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), Troy, New York (20172018), and at the University of Minho, Portugal (20052006). He served as Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies at UNIFEI (20092012) and as Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Production Engineering (20082009 and 20192022). He holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of São Paulo (1996), a master's degree in Transportation Engineering from the University of São Paulo (1998), and a Ph.D. in Transportation Engineering from the same institution (2003), including a research exchange period at the University of Minho, Portugal (2001). At UNIFEI, he teaches undergraduate courses (Production Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Business Administration) and graduate courses (Ph.D. and Masters programs in Production Engineering, Professional Masters in Business Administration). At USP/São Carlos, he serves as a guest lecturer in graduate courses (Ph.D. and Masters programs in Transportation Engineering). He has experience in the field of Production and Transportation Engineering, with a focus on Logistics and Transportation, working mainly on the following topics: Sustainability in Logistics and Transportation, Reverse Logistics and Waste Management, Urban Logistics, Green Supply Chain Management (GSCM), and Circular Economy. He was a full member of the Advisory Committee on Architecture and Engineering (TEC) at FAPEMIG (20132016) and has been a CNPq Research Productivity Fellow since 2008. He is the coordinator of the LogTranS (Laboratory of Logistics, Transportation, and Sustainability) at UNIFEI (since 2003) and Associate Editor of the Logistics Section of the *Revista Transportes*, published by the Brazilian Association for Research and Education in Transportation (ANPET).
