He holds a doctorate in Adult Education / Production Engineering (Knowledge Management area) from the University of Helsinki, Finland (revalidated in Production Engineering by UFRJ); Master in Agroecological Knowledge Management and Social Change from the University of Wageningen, Holland (2004) and graduated in Agronomic Engineering from the University of São Paulo (ESALQ-USP). Currently he is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Agronomic Engineering at the Federal University of Sergipe (UFS ), where he teaches the disciplines: Rural Sociology, Rural Extension and Social Movements. He has research interest in the areas of Innovation, Sustainability, Organizational Learning, Activity Theory (Cultural-Historical Activity Theory) and Interventionist Methodologies with an emphasis on the Change Laboratory.
