MSc and PhD in Zoology from the Institute of Biosciences of the University of São Paulo, with a sandwich period at the University of California at Santa Cruz, USA. He was an Assistant Professor at the São Paulo State University "Júlio de Mesquita Filho" (UNESP), Biosciences Institute, Coastal Campus, in São Vicente (SP from 2003 to 2022. Then he was Senior Researcher at the Department of Ecology and Environmental Science of Umeå University and at the Department of Forest Ecology and Management of Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) in Umeå , Sweden, from 2022 to 2024. At present, he is the Head of Acoustics at Ocean Science Consulting Ltd., in Dunbar, Scotland, UK. He has experience in the field of Ecology, with an emphasis on behavioural ecology and terrestrial and marine acoustics.
