Joao Roberto Costa de Souza

João Roberto Costa de Souza, degree in Social Sciences from the São Paulo University State and Master in Anthropology at the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo. University Professor and Public Manager for 14 years, was President of the Jacarehy Cultural Foundation and Coordinator of the Museum of Anthropology of the Paraíba Valley. In the government of President Lula assisted the Ministry of Culture in the implementation of the National Culture System process.In two periods of government (2009-12 and 2012-16) was Municipal Secretary of Education in the city of Jacarei, State of São Paulo; coordinating the administrative and pedagogical scope of the System of Public Schools of the City Hall, whose service network covers over 80 schools and approximately 21,000 students. From 2014 he joined the Brazilian jurisdiction of GELP (Global Education Leaders Partnerships) formed by educational leaders from 15 countries participating in the Global San Francisco Meetings, US (May 2014) and Durban, South Africa ( 2015), in partnership with the OECD. In September 2015, invited by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, joins the International ITE Project GT (Initial Teacher Education) aimed at the exchange of experience and practice in initial teacher education. September/2015 and May 2016, respectively, participated in the meetings of the same group in the cities of Melbourne, Australia, and London, UK. From these international experiences brought foreign investment that allowed the municipal network to implement a Mentoring Program for Teachers in partnership with various non-governmental organizations.
