Fernanda Luciani earned her Bachelor's degree in History and Education from University of Sao Paulo (USP). Her Bachelor's thesis focused on the social history of Brazil, which launched her academic career in this field. Financed by the Supporting Research Foundation of Sao Paulo (FAPESP), Luciani also earned her Master's degree at USP. A 2005 visiting scholar at the Social Sciences Institute from University of Lisboa (ICS-UL), and a researcher at USP's Cater Jaime Cortesao institute from 2002 to 2010, she joined the executive board to implement the project "Brasiliana USP - Biblioteca Guita e Jose Mindlin," an initiative sponsored by USP's Supporting Foundation (FUSP). She is an expert in History, focusing her studies in Colonial Brazil, and the following themes: Dutch Brazil, global history and comparative history. Currently, Luciani is a pedagogycal coordinator at Colegio Santa Cruz in Sao Paulo and phd research on educational reforms and curriculum in comparative and global perspective at University of São Paulo.
