Claudia Mourthé holds a degree in Design from Faculdade da Cidade - 1991, a master's degree in Architecture and Urbanism from the University of São Paulo (USP) - 1998; and doctorate with the Thesis "Referential theme of aesthetic taste and cultural diversity: considering the rational and emotional aspects of the individual" in the laboratory "Conception et Qualité des Produits et Processus" - Université de Technologie de Compiègne (UTC) - 2008. She is currently an associate professor at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). She was head of the Visual Communication Design department from 2012 to 2017; She chaired the creation committee of the Graduate Program in Design (PPGD), coordinated the PPGD from 2017 to 2019. She has experience in design, working mainly on the following research topics: Aesthetic taste, cultural identity and cultural diversity; ergodesign and usability; built environment; Modeling complex systems.
