Iolanda da Cruz Vieira

Graduated in Chemistry from the Federal University of Piauí (UFPI, 1990), Master of Science (Analytical Chemistry) from the University of São Paulo (USP/São Carlos, 1993), PhD in Analytical Chemistry from the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCAR/São Carlos, 1997) and Postdoctoral internship at UFSCAR (1999). Professor at the Department of Chemistry of the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) since April 2003 (currently Full Professor). Coordinates the Biosensors Laboratory - LaBios and is part of the Graduate Program in Chemistry - PPGQ at UFSC. Member of the Research Chamber in the periods 2010-2012, 2022-2024 and 2025-2027. Representative of the Research Chamber on the University Council in the period 2011-2012. Research Coordinator of the Chemistry Department from 2017 to 2025. Coordinator of Undergraduate Chemistry Courses from 2018 to 2021. Member of the Selection and Monitoring Committee of the Institutional Program of Scholarships for Initiation in Technological Development and Innovation (PIBITI/UFSC) from 2024 to 2026. She has experience in Analytical Chemistry with emphasis on electroanalytics, enzymatic biosensors and immunosensors, working mainly in the development of new (bio)sensors containing nanostructured materials.
