Currently Associate Professor lV at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, RN, and a permanent member of the Postgraduate Programme in Ecology (CAPES level 7). I have been working since 1992 to advance scientific knowledge in the field of Ecology and to generate new technologies applicable to the restoration of degraded environments in a variety of tropical and subtropical ecosystems, with current emphasis on the Caatinga. I have experience in coordinating large research projects, in designing and analysing ecological experiments and in comparative work focusing on the areas of Restoration Ecology, Plant Ecology and Biodiversity.
