received her BS degree in Computer Science from the Universidad de La Habana in 1994, MS degree and PhD degree in Electrical Engineering from School of Electrical and Computing Engineering at State University of Campinas, Brazil. She is a full professor of computer science at Federal University of São Carlos, Brazil. Her research interests include multidimensional databases (data warehousing and OLAP), new database technologies, text mining, information and multimedia retrieval systems, and e-learning.
