Gesil Sampaio Amarante Segundo

He has a degree in Physics (Bachelor's degree) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1993), a Master's degree in Physics from the University of São Paulo (1996) and a PhD in Physics from the University of São Paulo (2000) and completed a post-doctoral internship at the Forschungszentrum Jülich (2022-2022). He is currently a full professor at the State University of Santa Cruz (UESC). He has experience in the area of #8203;#8203;Physics, with an emphasis on Plasma Physics, working mainly on the following topics: plasmas, RF antennas, heating and generation of flows using Alfvén waves, High Performance Computing, Intellectual Property, Technology Transfer, Innovation and Public STI Policies. He served as Superintendent of Scientific Development and Chief of Staff at the STI Secretariat of the State of Bahia in 2016-17 and 2019; was a representative of ISTs in the Bahia Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer Network (RePITTec); he was General Coordinator of the Forum of Parliamentary Advisors on Science, Technology, Innovation and Education (ForumCTIE) between 2018 and 2019 and President of the National Forum of Innovation and Technology Transfer Managers (FORTEC) between 2020 and 2024.
