is a biologist (B.Sc. Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 1994), has a M Sc. in Ecology (Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 1999) and Ph.D. in Microbial Molecular Ecology (University of Newcastle upon Tyne, 2003). She held a post-doc position at ESALQ/USP (2004/2005) and at the Post-Graduation Pogram on Biology of Fungi (UFPE, Prodoc/Capes, 2005/2006). Presently, she is a professor at Universidade Federal de Pernambuco, member of the Post-Graduation Program on Biology of Fungi (Biologia de Fungos - PPG-BF) and member of the International Commission on the Taxonomy of Fungi (ICTF). Her expertise area is Microbiology, focusing on Mycology, specially the following subjects: taxonomy and ecology of hyphomycetes in soil and submerged leaf litter, decomposition of organic matter, molecular analyses and phylogenetics.
