He has a degree in History from the State University of Campinas (1994), a Master's in History from the State University of Campinas (1999), a doctorate in History from the State University of Campinas (2005) and a post-doctorate from the Università degli Studi di Roma La Sapienza, held with the Dipartimento di Studi Europei, Americani and Interculturali (2015-16). He is currently an associate professor at the State University of Maringá. He has experience in the area of History, with an emphasis on the History of Brazil Empire, acting mainly on the following themes: criticism and interpretation, Machado de Assis, journalism, literature and culture, slavery, cultural studies and theories of history.
