Angelica A. Silva de Almeida, PhD, has a bachelor's degree in History from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora-UFJF (1997), a master's degree (2000), a doctorate (2007) in Cultural History from Unicamp (University of Campinas), and a post-doctorate from UFJF. Since 2009, she has been a History professor at the Federal Institute of Southeast Minas Gerais (IF Sudeste MG) - Juiz de Fora Campus and researcher at NUPES - Research Center in Spirituality and Health at UFJF and the "Center for Studies on the History of Spiritism" (NUESHE) from the Salgado de Oliveira University. Coordinator of the Politics and Ideology Studies Laboratory (LEPIDE) at Salgado de Oliveira University. She works mainly on the following topics: The history of Brazil, Medicine, and Religions. In her research, she emphasizes interdisciplinary work through partnerships, publications, and presentations at national and international conferences. She is guest editor of the special issues "Perspectives on Spiritism" (journal Interações) and "Alan Kardec: life, ideas, works and his influence" (journal Horizontes), both journals published by the Catholic University of Minas Gerais (PUC MG). Member of the Allan Kardec Project research team that analyses and make available original primary manuscripts and documents from Allan Kardec (https://projetokardec.ufjf.br).
