Graduated in Bachelor of Physics with Qualification in Basic Research in Physics from University of São Paulo - USP (1995), Master's Degree in Space Geophysics from National Institute for Space Research - INPE (1998) and PhD in Space Geophysics also from National Institute of Space Research Spaces - INPE (2002), with further training abroad (FAPESP scholarship) at Stanford University CA/USA. Associate Professor III at the School of Science and Technology at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN). He is currently Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Aerospace Engineering (RNA / PPGEA), RN Pole. He has experience in the area of Geosciences, with emphasis on Aeronomy and Space Physics, acting on the following subjects: events of precipitation of electrons from geo-space to the Earth's upper atmosphere, mechanisms of population equilibrium of particles in the Van Allen radiation belts , solar physics, propagation of VLF signals in the Earth's lower ionosphere. He was the first head of the Department of Atmospheric and Climate Sciences at the Center for Exact and Earth Sciences at UFRN.
