Cesar R. Foschini completed his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering at the Federal University of São Carlos, SP, Brazil in 1999. Between 2001 and 2002 he was a post-doctoral associate at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, MA, USA and after working for almost 10 years in RD for companies developing products based on advanced ceramics and electroceramics, such as oxygen sensors based on yttria stabilized zirconia and high alumina products for the automotive industry. In 2012, he joined the São Paulo State University - Unesp in Bauru, SP, Brazil, where he has been an associate professor since 2018. His current research interest is focused on the processing and characterization of composite materials reinforced with carbon nanotubes and graphene, the correlation between microstructure and properties, the additive manufacturing, and gas sensors.
