Renato Vicente earned his PhD in Machine Learning at the Neural Computing Research Group of Aston University in Birmingham (UK) in 2001. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Applied Mathematics at the Institute of Mathematics and Statistics of the University of São Paulo. He was Chief Data Scientist at the Latin American Experian DataLab. He is currently Director of Research at TELUS Digital. His interests include the statistical mechanics of socio-biological complex systems, information theory, and the theory and applications of machine learning. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)

In this research project for the Internship Abroad, we propose further directions for the development of the student's current research on suboptimal consumer decision through a statistical mechanics framework, which is applied to a Linear Economy model by Matteo Marsili et al.
