Graduate at Engenharia Eletrônica from Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica (1983), master's at Philosophy of Science from Universidade Estadual de Campinas (1995) and ph.d. at Philosophy from Universidade Estadual de Campinas (2002). His main area of interest is the Philosophy of Science and Technology. Investigated the work of philosophers of the Frankfurt School, notably Max Horkheimer and Theodor W. Adorno, seeking to understand the problematic relation of technoscientific progress with social and environmental values in contemporary society. Also studied the work of Hans Jonas and his proposal for a new ethic for technological civilization. Currently, seeks to develop satisfactorily a critical theory of technoscience.
