Senior scientific researcher, level III at the National Institute for Amazon Research (INPA) in Manaus-AM. Level A PQFAP EAM I fellow in the FAPEAM calling 13/2022 Productivity in S,TI Program since 1/8/2023. Supervisor of graduate students from the graduate programs in biotechnology and chemistry at the Federal University of Amazonas (UFAM) in Manaus, Amazonas State, Brazil. My research interests include the development of production chains based on Amazonian native medicinal and economic plants and in the chemical composition, biological activity and extraction of natural products with potential economic use from these plants. Emphasis in my work is on plants and their antimalarial active principles. I am also interested in the isolation of active principles from plants on gram or multi-gram scales for applications such as preparation of semi-synthetic derivatives with potential medicinal uses.
