PhD in Communication and Semiotics from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (Fapesp Scholarship holder 1998 - 2002), Gabriela Reinaldo is a professor at the Institute of Culture and Art at the Federal University of Ceará (ICA-UFC), where she coordinates the Imago - laboratory for aesthetic and image studies (http://dgp.cnpq.br/dgp/espelhogrupo/3220389528083591), which houses, among other research projects, the projects "Intersemiotic Translation: the relationship between word and image" and "The faces of the face". She made a Doctoral Stay at the Université Paris X (1998) and a postdoctoral senior internship as a visitor Professor at the Department of Art History at the University of Cambridge - UK, where she investigated the representations of Brazil made by 19th century scientific artists, especially CFP von Martius (project entitled " The naturalistic look and its legacy for science and fiction ", Senior Internship abroad, Bolsa Capes - August 2013 to August 2014). During this period, she also researched and participated in events at The Warburg Institute (London-UK). Gabriela has experience in Semiotics, focusing on Communication, acting on the following subjects: Peircean Semiotics, Semiotics of culture (Tartu-Moscow Semiotic School), Myth, Intersemiotic and Cross-Culture Translation, Literature, Vilém Flusser and João Guimarães Rosa.
