Joaquim Murray Bustorff Silva

Joaquim Murray Bustorff-Silva has a degree in Medicine from STATE UNIVERSITY OF CAMPINAS MEDICAL SCHOOL (FCM-UNICAMP) in 1981 and completed his PhD in 1992 from the same university. Held a Postdoctoral Fellowship at UCLA Department of Pediatric Surgery from 1997 to 1998. He is currently Full Professor of the Department of Surgery FCM-UNICAMP having been approved in a public tender on 18 May 2007. He has published over 80 articles in medical journals and about 95 in papers in conference proceedings. It has written 9 chapters of published books. He guided 5 Master and 5 PhD Thesis and several funded scientific initiations. He is coordinator of the division of Pediatric Surgery at FCM-UNICAMP and has been the Head of the Department of Surgery daFCM-UNICAMP from March 2010 to April 2014. He is an ad-hoc advisor to several funding agencies (FAPESP, CNPq and FAEP) and reviewer of several speciality journals ( J. Pediatrics, J. Pediatric Surgery and J. Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition) His research areas of interest are #8203;#8203;Digestive Physiology with emphasis on Intestinal Motility, Congenital Megacolon, Gastro-oesophageal Reflux and effects of neurological diseases on intestinal motility.
