Mirian Pacheco Silva

Associate Professor in the field of Science Education at the Federal University of ABC. PhD in Education from the Faculty of Education at Unicamp/Campinas (2007). Master's degree in Science Education from Unesp/Bauru (2002). Bachelor's and Bachelor's degrees in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Uberlândia (1996). I worked as a Basic Education teacher in the public school system in the city of Uberlândia (1993 2004). I also served as a lecturer at the Federal University of Uberlândia (2002 - 2004), at the Cruzeiro do Sul University (2005 - 2008), and at the Federal University of Goiás (2008- 2009). Since 2009, I have been a member of the Center for Natural and Human Sciences at UFABC. I have experience in coordinating the Biological Sciences program, serving as coordinator (2013-2015) and as vice-coordinator (2011- 2012 and 2016-2017). I served as the institutional coordinator of Pibid (2010 - 2014) and coordinated the Science department within Pibid-UFABC (2014-2018). I led the Specialization program in Science Education for the Final Years of Elementary School, titled "Science is 10" (2020-2022). Additionally, I am the deputy coordinator of UAB/UFABC and am actively involved in the Postgraduate Program in History and the Teaching of Sciences and Mathematics at UFABC. I also coordinate the Study and Research Group on Science, Mathematics, and Sexuality Education. My research encompasses a variety of themes, including STS, Socio-scientific issues, Curriculum development, Sexuality Education, Psychoanalysis, and Education." (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
