Agronomist (UFRPE - 1998), Doctor in Soil Microbiology (ESALQ - 2004), Postdoctoral researcher in Soil Microbial Ecology (University of California, Davis - 2015). Full Professor of Soil Microbiology at the Federal University of Piauí. Permanent faculty member of the Graduate Programs in Agronomy (PPGA) and Agricultural Sciences (PPGCA). Has expertise in Agronomy-Soil Science, with emphasis on Soil Microbiology and Biochemistry, primarily working on the following topics: Soil microbial biomass, biological indicators of soil quality, soil microbial ecology (metagenomics), biological nitrogen fixation, soil pollution, and environmental quality. Leads the research group "Soil Microbial Ecology of the Meio Norte region" (UFPI/CNPq). Has published over 230 complete papers in international indexed journals and authored books and book chapters in Brazil and abroad. Member of the Editorial Board of Applied Soil Ecology (Elsevier), European Journal of Soil Biology (Elsevier), and Rhizosphere (Elsevier). Collaborates on research with Germany (IDIV - DE), the Netherlands (Wageningen University and University of Groningen), and India (IIT New Delhi and Banaras Hindu University). Coordinates the Center of Excellence (PRONEX) of CNPq and FAPEPI. Ad-hoc consultant for CNPq, FAPEPI, CAPES, and the French Agency for Research. Reviewer for national and international journals. Listed among the top 2 of the most influential scientists in the world by Stanford University. Currently, a research productivity grantee of CNPq, level 1C. H-index (Scopus): 30.
