He was born in Recife, where he completed his undergraduate studies with distinction and earned a masters degree in Physics (1998) at the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE). He received his Ph.D. from the Gleb Wataghin Institute of Physics at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP). During his doctorate, he participated in CAPESs Doctoral Program with an Internship Abroad (PDEE), spending one year at the University of Arizona, to which he returned after defending his thesis to work as a researcher. This experience led to several influential publications, including a Chemical Reviews article that has accumulated more than 5,200 citations. A CNPq Research Productivity Fellow since 2011, he has published roughly 100 papers in international journals that together have garnered about 16,000 citations (Google Scholar). His current h-index is 33, and his i-10 index is 62. He served as coordinator of the Graduate Program in Physics at the University of Brasília (20122014) and as Director of Institutional Development and Innovation in the Office of the Vice-President for Research and Graduate Studies at the same university. He is now an Associate Professor at the University of Brasília, with expertise in setting up and managing high-performance computing clusters and in information security. He currently holds the position of Regional Secretary for the Federal District in the Brazilian Physical Society (SBF). (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
