Civil engineer from the Polytechnic School of USP, MSc and PhD in Soil and Foundation Engineering from the same school. Past President of ABMS - Brazilian Association of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering, Llaureate Prize Manuel Rocha (ABMS) and two Award Milton Vargas (Journal Foundations and Geotechnical Works). Researcher at the IPT - Institute for Technological Research of São Paulo State, for more than 30 years. Author of dozens of national and international publications, co-editor of the book Foundations - Theory and Practice (Editora Pini) and Applications of Stress-Wave Theory of Piles 2000 (Balkema Editors). Currently, Latu Sensus Master's course coordinator "Foundations and Geotechnical Practice in Empreendimentos" at FESP - São Paulo School of Engineering and visiting professor at the Professional Master of IPT.
