Graduated in geology at Sao Paulo University (USP) in 1997 and later acquired the master and PhD degree at mining engineering at Polytechnic School of Sao Paulo University (2002 and 2013, respectively). The PhD theme was concerned in the nickel bearing clay minerals from lateritic ore of Niquelandia deposit (Brazil). Moreover, she was as researcher for five years at Vale, a Brazilian mining company. During this period, she developed projects related to kaolin, copper, nickel, phosphate and others; also, she was a responsible for an X-ray diffractometry (XRD) and a scanning electron microscopy (SEM) labs. Eliana concluded a post-PhD entitled "the mineral characterization of Cu lateritic minerals" in the Poitiers University at France in 2015 and after this, she has been developing post-PhD concerning mineralogical behaviour of iron ore slurry in the pipelines and mineralogical characterization of lateritic deposits at the Polytechnic School of Sao Paulo University.
