Graduated in Ecology at Sao Paulo State University (UNESP), has a Master's degree in Remote Sensing from Brazil's National Institute for Space Research (INPE), and a Ph.D. in Geosciences from Campinas University (UNICAMP). As part of his doctoral studies, he worked as a visiting scientist at the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). Recently, he worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the Desert Research Institute (DRI) and as a research Fellow at the Australian Rivers Institute (ARI), Griffith University. His research interests are concentrated on applications of spatial analysis methods (geostatistics, digital image processing, multivariate analysis, stochastic simulation and machine learning techniques) to investigate soil properties and its interaction with surface and groundwater.
