David da Silva Pires

Computer Science PhD at Mathematics and Statistics Institute of University of São Paulo (IME-USP) (2012), Computer Science MSc at IME-USP (2007), and Computer Science Bachelor's at IME-USP (2003). He is currently independent contractor for the Fundação de Apoio à Universidade de São Paulo (FUSP), working as a Systems Analyst (GNU/Linux Network Administrator) in the Laboratory of Eukaryotic Gene Expression (Gene Network) at IQ-USP and as Bioinformatics analyst, providing technical support in information technology for development of the Project "Anti-Parasitic Drug Discovery in Epigenetics (AParaDDisE), sponsored by the European Community. He has experience in the area of Computer Science, with an emphasis on Computer Vision and Image Processing, acting on the following subjects: optical flow, RGBD images, 3D video, connected components tracking, connected components matching, graph matching, motion segmentation, 3D modeling and eScience.
