Luciana Fernandes Rosa

Cellist and researcher, PhD in Music from USP, Master in Cello from Louisiana State University, Bachelor in Cello and Licensed in Music, both from USP, and Bachelor in Social Communication - Propaganda from Escola Superior de Propaganda e Marketing. She is currently a professor of Musicology of Popular Music at the Faculty of Music of Espírito Santo (FAMES). She was a professor in the area of Music and Culture at the School of Music at the Federal University of Minas Gerais. She is a researcher of the Choro genre, having been part of the team of researchers responsible for the process of Registration of Choro as a Cultural Heritage of Brazil with IPHAN. He presented works and taught workshops in Spain, Mexico, Cuba and Brazil. He has articles published in the main magazines in the area, such as Orfeu, Tulha, Vórtex and Música Popular em Revista, as well as texts in conference proceedings. In 2017, he received an Honorable Mention in the category Composition in Popular Music at the XXV Nascente Program at USP. As an instrumentalist, he works in choro, samba and MPB, having performed at several SESCs, at Clube de Choro de São Paulo, Auditorio do Ibirapuera, Sala São Paulo, and at the Instituto Superior de Arte in Havana, Cuba, among others. In the erudite universe, I play in orchestras in the USA and Brazil. As a teacher, he worked in social projects such as Instituto Baccarelli, Guri Santa Marcelina, extension course at ECA-USP, SESC and at the international schools St Francis College, St Nicholas College and St Paul's School.
