Medical graduation from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo (FMUSP). Cardiovascular surgeon, with basic residency in general surgery at the Hospital das Clínicas (HC-FMUSP) and specialized residency at the Heart Institute (InCor-HC-FMUSP). PhD in Morphofunctional Sciences: Structure and Ultrastructure from the Department of Anatomy of the Institute of Biomedical Sciences of the University of São Paulo (ICB-USP). He is the coordinator of the Medicine course at the Faculdade Paraíso de Araripina (FAP), treasurer of the International Federation of Associations of Anatomists (IFAA), member of the Brazilian Association of Medical Education. He is a full member of the Brazilian College of Surgeons. He was a professor at the Anatomy Department of ICB-USP and at the Bauru Medical School (FOB-USP), advisor for the INOVATC Professional Master's Degree in Anesthesiology at FMUSP, member of the Medical Schools Monitoring and Monitoring Committee (CAMEM), secretary of IFAA, president of the Brazilian Society of Anatomy, president of the XXII International Symposium on Morphological Sciences, secretary of the Brazilian Commission of Anatomical Terminology, elected delegate for Brazil at the Pan-American Association of Anatomy, member of the Educational Affairs Committee of the American Association of Anatomists, General Secretary of the Pan-American Association of Anatomy (2013-2016), member of the Federative International Committee for Transcontinental, Interdisciplinary Discussion (FICTID) of IFAA. He is an honorary member of the Argentine Association of Anatomy, the Argentine Society of Clinical Anatomy and the Paraguayan Society of Anatomy. He was awarded the "Outstanding Educator" trophy by the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, the "Martim Afonso Medal" by the city of São Vicente, the "César Timo Iaria Award" by the César Timo Iaria Academic Center for students of the UNINOVE Medical course, and the "Nise da Silveira Neuroscience and Art Award" by the Brazilian Society of Neuroscience and Behavior. He was the godfather of the 9th graduating class of the UNIMES Medical course and the 122nd graduating class of the FO-USP Dentistry course. He was the patron of the 4th Class of the Tiradentes University Medical Course (UNIT-SE). He was honored by the students of the Tiradentes University Medical course with the creation of the "Richard Halti Cabral Academic Athletic Association". He was awarded the Nicodemos Teles de Pontes Filho Award by the Federal University of Pernambuco.
