Carlos Basílio Pinheiro

Full Professor at the Physics Department of the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG) and Director of Scientific Production at the Pro-Rectory of Research at UFMG. Coordinator of the Crystallography Laboratory at UFMG - LabCri (www.labcri.ufmg.br) and member of the Commission on Aperiodic Crystals (IUCr). He Develops research in the area of Solid State physics / Crystallography, within the following topics: aperiodic systems, crystal engineering, functional molecular materials and MOFs. Graduated in Physics from UFMG- Brazil (1992), he holds a Master's degree in Physics from UFMG (1995) and a PhD in Physics (Crystallography) from UFMG and from the Université de Lausanne (UNIL) Switzerland (1999). He held postdoctoral work at the National Center for Research in Energy and Materials (CNPEM), Campinas-Brazil, (2000-2001) and at the University of Bath, Bath-England (2012-2013). He was an assistant at UNIL, Lausanne-Switzerland, (2001-2003) and at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology of Lausanne (EPFL), Lausanne-Switzerland (2003-2005). He was Adjunct Professor at the Department of Inorganic Chemistry at Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF), Niterói-Brazil (2005-2006). (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
