Ivair Aparecido dos Santos

Ivair Aparecido dos Santos holds bachelor's (State University of Maringá/1994), master's (State University of Campinas/1997), doctorate (Federal University of São Carlos/2001), and postdoctoral (Federal University of São Carlos/2001-2002 and University of Texas at San Antonio/2016-2017) degrees in Physics. He is currently Associate Professor at the Department of Physics at the State University of Maringá, and a permanent member of the Graduate courses in Physics and Mechanical Engineering at that institution. He has published more than 150 articles in specialized journals and has presented dozens of papers at national and international scientific events. Throughout his career, he has already supervised dozens of scientific and technological initiation, master, and doctoral thesis, in addition to having supervised several post-doctoral projects in themes of Condensed Matter Physics. Currently, he is deputy coordinator of the INCT Ferroic Materials for Energy Converters, general coordinator of the NAPI Zero Carbon Energy, and coordinates five research projects supported by official Brazilian research funding agencies CNPq, Capes and Araucária Foundation, all in Condensed Matter Physics and Nanotechnology. Such projects aim at the study and development of nanomaterials, especially multiferroics, and multifunctional devices. His interests are focused on the study and understanding of structure/property relationships in ferroic materials, with special emphasis on the development of advanced nano/microdevices (solid-state transformers, actuators and sensors, solar cells, and multiple state non-volatile memories).
