Ana Paula Pacheco is an associate professor at Department of Literary Theory and Comparative Literature at University of São Paulo. She has been carrying out research on Brazilian and USA novelists of the 1930?s. She is the author of Lugar do mito (São Paulo: Nankin Ed., 2006), her PhD on Guimarães Rosa's fiction, and of many essays on the relations between history and artistic forms (on contemporary literature, 1930?s novels in Brazil and USA, Faulkner, Steinbeck, Graciliano Ramos, Dyonelio Machado).
