Rivael Strobel Penze holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the State University of Campinas since November 2016. He is currently a researcher at the Foundation Center for Research and Development in Telecommunications (CPqD). His areas of expertise are: IoT (Internet of Things), Optical communications, Optical access network, Optical amplifiers, Fiber optic devices, Fiber optic sensors (Power over Fiber, Fiber Bragg Grating, Distributed Temperature Sensing, Bending fibers ), sensors for electric power systems (rotor temperature, temperature of busbars and transmission lines, partial discharges of hydro generators and transformer bushings, contact quality of disconnect switches, water level of dams and piezometers, current and tension).
