Cassiano Barros holds a Bachelor of Music Degree (2001 Majors in Conducting and Harpsichord), Master in Music (2006) and PhD in Music (2011) from the State University of Campinas - Unicamp and a Bachelor in Art Education Degree from the Claretiano University Center (2017). Barros has been working over eight years as a university professor, devoted to the education of musicians and music teachers, and as a teacher of music and art in Basic Education. Barros is devoted to teaching and research, focused on Musicology, History of Music Theory (ancient poetics and musical rhetoric) and Music Education. Currently, Barros holds a tenured-track position at Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, teaching music theory in the undergraduate and graduate music programs and leading the Research Group Early Music in Perspective.
