With a degree in electrical engineering from the Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil, in 1995, he obtained the titles of master and doctor in electrical engineering from the São Carlos School of Engineering (EESC), University of São Paulo - USP, Brazil, in 1997 and 2001, respectively. He is currently an associate professor at EESC/USP, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (www.sel.eesc.usp.br) with complete dedication to teaching and research, with full guidance (master's and doctorate) in the graduate program in electrical engineering at EESC/USP, with the maximum concept at CAPES (7). He has worked in electrical engineering in electrical power systems (generation, transmission, distribution and micro-networks), emphasizing the sub-areas of power quality and digital protection.
